About Scott

Scott Barnes is a lifelong IT expert. While earning his Computer Engineering degree at Georgia Tech, he managed a 300-user network as a co-op student for Georgia Pacific. After graduating, he continued to work at the company as a web developer. Scott joined a startup with two other developers and built an online project management web application that supported project planning, internal email, resource allocation, and reporting. He then went to work for Sapient, a consulting firm that provided web-based applications for Nextel and Cingular (now AT&T) and was part of the team that built a web application that aided in the migration of users from the old text based Blackberries to the new 3G based wireless networks that current Blackberries use. Scott currently works for UCB, a large pharmaceutical company, where he manages the entire U.S. market's Web infrastructure. He supports several sites that aid in the marketing of serveral drugs that will earn nearly $2 billion annually worldwide.

Scott has provided computer consulting to his own set of clients since 1997. Level 33 caters to the small- to medium-sized business that requires a "jack of all trades" to help them execute a number of different IT initiatives. He supports the metro Atlanta area and works most nights and weekends.

“My clients are experts at their own businesses and don’t have the time or interest in mastering changing technology,” Scott said. “I follow IT best practices that I’ve learned from working at several large corporations. They regard me as their IT department—on call to visit them at their office or home.”
